He began his career as a trial attorney but due to the needs of his parents, older clients and numerous referrals, transitioned to Elder Law, Medicaid nursing home planning, and Division of Assets.

He has served as president of the Saint Joseph Bar Association, volunteered on a variety of community boards and participated in numerous events sponsored by the Saint Joseph Bar Association to help people in need with sound legal advice.

Brent is a native of Northwest Missouri and grew up in Saint Joseph.

He is a graduate of Central High School, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia, and earned his law degree at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.

He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives. These national organizations provide education, training, and a national network of expertise for member attorneys to help senior citizens and people with special needs.
